I have been working in the music industry since 2007. I started as a roadie and sound engineer trainee and soon got involved in mixing live gigs. I graduated as a sound designer from Tampere University of Applied Sciences in 2011, after which I worked as a house technician at Yo-talo in Tampere, Telakka and Kuudes Linja in Helsinki. Since then I have worked as a freelance live engineer with several bands, for longer periods with Pekko Käppi and KHHL, Juurakko, Maija Kauhanen, Suistamon Sähkö, Risto, Iisa, Puhti and Anne-Mari Kivimäki’s projects. In addition I have done numerous other gigs at various types of events over the years. I am especially inspired by acoustic instruments, jazz, folk and roots music, world music and all kinds of special music! I myself perform in the KÄRES band, which draws its inspiration from madness and ancient Finnish spells.

In addition to mixing, I have worked in radio, making radio documentaries for YLE, among others. My sound work also extends to sound compositions, soundscapes and installations, in several of which I have used field recordings I have made in nature. In collaboration with Teho Majamäki and Lauri Porra, I have created a nature piece in Northern Finland, where nature sounds and music move in a large art space with 116 loudspeakers. My latest sound installation AVAHTUA:springtime, inspired by the nature of the archipelago, was exhibited at Kemiönsaari Cultural Centre Björkboda in spring 2024.

In addition to technical and content production, I organise events. In Lapinlahti, Helsinki, I organise the Diggailuiltamat club a few times a year, open to all. I was the main organiser and artistic producer of the LAP fest in July 2024. There we enjoyed visual art at the opening of the Lapinlahti summer exhibition, music by seven bands, stage poetry and performance art. The event was supported by the City of Helsinki, Oskar Öflund stiftelse and Hurrikaanit Ltd. I am also actively involved in the community of Lapinlahti and many of the events organised there.
