Classes this week at Tukholmankatu 10, Meilahti

Mon 6pm-8pm Dynamic opening, sun salutation and pelvis

Wed 5.15pm-6.45pm Healthy back and backbending

Sun 3pm-5pm Rotation and breathing exercise

The themes of the exercises each day are indicative and the contents vary. Nevertheless, every class begins with opening warm ups and end with meditational final relaxation.

The price for one class is 11e or 77e one month unlimited classes. You can just arrive in the class the first time at least 5 minutes before start, but I appreciate a heads-up in mail, myyri@sysivesi.fi. Please message me by Saturday evening for Sundays’ classes. The front door is locked but I will wait for the participants in the lobby before class.

The body and the mind cannot be separated, they are two different aspects of the same thing. Yoga practice takes care of the whole and gives you the tools to face the different aspects of stressful
everyday life and life in a resilient way. The holistic understanding of the human being resonates with me, and I first started practising yoga in 2008 as a tool for my recovery from an accident. Since then, the practice has been on and off, but has remained an important part of my life. I have been working as a yoga instructor since 2022, when I graduated as a traditional yoga instructor from Shakta Yoga School. In 2023-24, I completed Jutta Aalto’s 1.5-year Functional Anatomy Course for Yoga Instructors, one of the best in the field.

In my yoga classes, I combine traditional practice with the anatomical approach of functional workout as I see fit. My classes combine a calm practice focused on breathing and relaxation with powerful asanas and a holistic opening and strengthening of the body done in a mindful and thorough way.

The classes are either in Finnish or English, depending on the participants’ needs.

I teach yoga mainly in Meilahti in a lovely old classroom at Tukholmankatu 10, a building with history and stories. The classes are open for everyone. You don’t need prior experience of yoga. Open mind and readiness to become better friends with yourself are recommended!

I can also come to a location of your choice to teach a yoga class tailored to your group, or you can come to me for a private class. Personal longer-term mentoring or designing your own practice to suit your needs is also possible. I am also experienced in Ayurvedic pressure massage, which can be combined with a private yoga class, for example. If you are interested, please contact me for a quote!
